We have found the perfect place to nourish your self and write in Portugal. Quinta Camarena is 10-acre bio-dynamic estate in the mythic heartland of Portugal. Surrounded by eucalyptus and fruit trees, cork plantations and farms, it has a pool, yoga studio, sauna, and hiking trails. You’ll eat, and live off the bounty of the land. All food is locally grown, or sourced and prepared by a dedicated chef.
Each writer has their own room/studio with private bath, and balcony. Breakfasts and dinners are included, so you have time and space to write. Where will your writing take you? Apply below with a writing sample. The deadline is September 15th, 2026.

Join us for a restorative, creative retreat at Quinta Camarena, a cozy, beautiful getaway in Portugal’s scenic Alentejo region. The natural enviroment with its’ charming views and peaceful surroundings offers the perfect space to write, paint, photograph, and reflect.
Whether you're seeking to focus on a project, or work in a creative community, this retreat offers the ideal balance of both—plus terrific food, and the local splendor of Portugal’s least touristed area, Alentejo.

Process & Fees
If you are interested in participating in this retreat, please complete the application form below and provide a writing or visual sample of your work. Also, in the message box, briefly state what creative project you’d like to work on in Portugal.
Once approved, you’ll be invited to reserve your space with a deposit.
Cost: $2,950.00
Register by May 1st: $2750.00
50% deposit due at registration. Balance due 45 days before retreat. Deposit is fully refundable up to 60 days prior to retreat. Within 45 days, a refund of 50% will be granted.
